HBO Sits On Martin’s Thrones

HBO has greenlit production on the fantasy drama pilot “Game of Thrones” based on George R.R. Martin’s book series reports Variety.

Feature film scribes David Benioff (“Wolverine,” “Troy”) and D.B. Weiss (“Kashmir,” “I Am Legend 2”) penned the pilot described as an exploration of “an epic struggle for power set in a vast and violent fantasy kingdom.”

HBO acquired TV adaptation rights to Martin’s “Songs of Ice and Fire” book series nearly two years ago. Carolyn Strauss, Guymon Cassidy, Vincent Gerardis and author Martin will serve as producers.
