HBO has ordered a second season of the Jack Black/Tim Robbins dark political comedy series “The Brink” a month after the show made its debut.
The show centers on a geopolitical crisis and its effect on three disparate and desperate men: Walter Larson, U.S. Secretary of State (Robbins); Alex Talbot, a lowly Foreign Service officer (Black); and Zeke Tilson, an ace Navy fighter pilot (Pablo Schreiber). These three compromised souls must save the planet from World War III.
The half-hour show premiered alongside the Dwayne Johnson-led “Ballers” in late June. While “Ballers” has been a big success, “The Brink” has had a more muted reaction from both critics and audiences.
