HBO has premiered the trailer for its new series “Succession” which follows a major family-controlled media company that is going through a transition.
Jesse Armstrong, who made the Black List with an unproduced script about the Murdoch family, created and penned every episode of the drama starring Brian Cox as the ageing patriarch owner of a media company whose children (Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, and Sarah Snook) begin to plan who should take over the company.
“The Big Short” director Adam McKay helmed the pilot for the ten-episode series which premieres on June 3rd. Hopefully it will fare better than Alan Ball’s early 2018 family drama “Here and Now” which HBO cancelled this week after just one season. Critics and ratings were not kind to the series.
