HBO is lining up a new “Game Change” mini-series based on the 2016 U.S. Presidential election.
The previous 2012 telemovie won multiple Emmy awards and dealt with the 2008 presidential election campaign of John McCain and starred Julianne Moore, Woody Harrelson and Ed Harris.
This new series, which doesn’t yet have a title, will again be directed by Jay Roach and executive produced by Playtone’s Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman.
It will tell the story of Donald Trump’s dramatic, improbable victory over Hillary Clinton last November and be based on Mark Halperin and John Heilemann’s upcoming third installment of the “Game Change” book series.
Understandably speculation over casting has already begun.
