HBO Planning A “Stuxnet” Mini-Series

HBO and “Downton Abbey” producer Carnival Films are teaming to developing documentary filmmaker Alex Gibney’s cyber warfare project “Stuxnet” as a limited series.

The project is based on Gibney’s 2016 cyberwarfare documentary “Zero Days” which told the complete story of the phenomenon – a self-replicating piece of computer malware developed by the West to disable and destroy nuclear facilities in the Middle East.

That one clandestine mission opened the Pandora’s Box of cyber-warfare forever, ushering in a new era of global conflict without rules. Stephen Schiff (“The Americans”) is writing, and Gibney is set to direct as well as produce alongside Marc Shmuger with Participant Media also onboard.
