HBO Moves Up Fisher & Reynolds’ “Lights”

In the wake of the recent deaths of both Carrie Fisher and her mother Debbie Reynolds, HBO’s upcoming documentary “Bright Lights” starring the pair has been moved up.

The network has scheduled a Saturday January 7th at 8pm premiere exclusively on HBO. Additionally this Sunday January 1st at 9pm, the network is running an encore of the 2010 special “Wishful Drinking” which recorded Carrie Fisher’s one-woman stage performance.

The doco deals with the family’s complicated love. Fisher and Reynolds live in the same Beverly Hills compound with performing taking its toll on Reynolds. The doco blends vintage family films with extensive verite footage.

Alexis Bloom and Fisher Stevens helmed the project which screened to great acclaim at Cannes, Telluride and the New York Film Festival.
