Rooster Teeth Animation’s parent company WarnerMedia has officially renewed the animated series “gen:LOCK” for a second season and will upgrade its platform – the next season premiering exclusively on the premium streaming service HBO Max.
The series boasts an all-star voice cast led by Michael B. Jordan, who also executive produces, and follows mech pilots fifty years into the future who are defending a war-torn Earth’s last truly free society from an oppressive authoritarian force threatening to conquer the world. Dakota Fanning, Maisie Williams, Kōichi Yamadera, Golshifteh Farahani, Asia Kate Dillon, David Tennant, Monica Rial, Blaine Gibson, Gray Haddock, Miles Luna and Chad James all lend their voices.
After 90 days on HBO Max, episodes of the second season will be available to stream for subscribers of WarnerMedia’s digital platform Rooster Teeth where the first season premiered earlier this year before later showing up as part of Cartoon Network’s Toonami section.
Additionally, the series will receive its own comic book adaptation published by DC Comics starting next month.
