HBO Adapting Gaiman’s “American Gods”

On the eve of the launch of its epic series adaptation of George RR Martin’s “Game of Thrones” book series, HBO has begun talks to acquire Neil Gaiman’s novel “American Gods” which will be developed into another fantasy series report Deadline.

The 2002 book follows an ex-convict on a cross-country journey through a modern day United States where all the mythological gods and monsters of ancient history have immigrated to.

Playtone partners Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman will produce while renowned cinematographer Robert Richardson and Gaiman will write the pilot together.
