Following their success with “Sharp Objects” last year, Amy Adams and HBO are once again teaming up with the actress’ new production company Bond Group Entertainment and the premium cable network signing a major first-look deal to develop more projects together.
The partnership is kicking off right away with HBO announcing plans to develop a limited series based on Barbara Kingsolver’s novel “Poisonwood Bible”. That book follows Orleanna Price, a woman who is married to an evangelical missionary.
Price takes her and her four children to Belgian Congo during the turmoil that erupted in 1959. Drama soon follows as Price and her family have to figure out life in a newly-independent African nation. No-one is yet set to star, though Adams in the lead role seems likely.
Adams recently filmed the thriller “The Woman in the Window,” based on the best-selling novel of the same name, with that due out later this year.
