Harrison Ford To Lead TV Series “Staircase”

Harrison Ford To Lead Tv Series Staircase

Following the first trailer for Amazon’s “Hunters” today, which shows off Al Pacino in the first regular television role of his career, another stalwart of the big screen is also coming to the small screen for his first regular television role.

Variety reports that Harrison Ford is attached to star in a narrative series adaptation of “The Staircase,” the 2004 documentary series which detailed the trial of American novelist Michael Peterson.

Peterson claimed his wife died after falling down the stairs at their home, but police suspected he bludgeoned her to death and staged the scene to look like an accident. Netflix bought the rights to the original doco and crafted three new episodes which aired in 2018.

The project is being shopped around to networks and streaming services and Ford is attached to executive produce the series in addition to starring. Antonio Campos (“The Sinner”) will write and executive produce with Annapurna Television producing.

Ford has previously made a handful of guest appearances on shows, his last small screen scripted series appearance being in 1993 in an episode of “The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles”.
