“Hugo” star Asa Butterfield is confirmed while Harrison Ford is apparently in talks to star in Gavin Hood’s sci-fi thriller “Ender’s Game” reports The Press Association.
Butterfield is set to play Andrew ‘Ender’ Wiggin, a bullied young boy who turns out to be a master military strategist, in this adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s classic sci-fi novel.
Viggo Mortensen was in talks to play the adult lead of Colonel Hyrum Graff, the commander of training at elite boys’ military academy. Ford is amongst several actors who’ve been approached for the role now that talks with Mortensen are said to have broken down.
Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman are producing with a Spring 2013 release date already set.
