Ryan Gosling should be thankful he only got punched once says Harrison Ford in a wryly amusing and extended new interview with GQ about their time together filming “Blade Runner 2049”.
Despite what it sounds like, the pair seem to get along well, Ford complimenting his co-star saying:
“He was fun to work with. I like him a lot. He’s a smart guy. I mean, he’s a f–king Mouseketeer—he’s been doing this since he was six years old or something. He knows what he’s doing.”
It’s just that during one of many takes during the filming of an action sequence in the film, one of Ford’s punches connected with Gosling’s mug – an accident Ford dubs “90 percent his fault” and explained:
“I punched Ryan Gosling in the face. Ryan Gosling’s face was where it should not have been. His job was to be out of the range of the punch. My job was also to make sure that I pulled the punch. But we were moving, and the camera was moving, so I had to be aware of the angle to the camera to make the punch look good. You know, I threw about a hundred punches in the shooting of it, and I only hit him once.”
Gosling told GQ last year that, as an apology, Ford brought a bottle of Scotch to his dressing room, poured him a glass, and then left with the rest of the bottle. Asked about this, Ford said:
“What, did he f–king expect the whole bottle? You know, I figured one drink would fix it. That was enough.”
The interview comes as 2,000 bottles of a special edition version of Johnnie Walker whiskey, dubbed the ‘Johnnie Walker Black Label The Director’s Cut,’ have been produced to tie in with the film.
Pre-orders are up now and the official release date for the new whiskey is September 25th, just before the new film opens on October 6th.
