Harmon Talks “Rick and Morty” S3 Delays

One of the most anticipated small screen returns coming soon is that of Dan Harmon’s acclaimed animated sci-fi comedy “Rick and Morty”.

Adult Swim wrapped the show’s second season in late 2015, but have yet to set a date for more episodes even though they’ve been in the works for a while.

Harmon has now spoken about the delays and when we’ll finally get to see the new eps during an appearance at Sundance this week. Unfortunately his comments suggest nothing is set yet, he tells Screen Rant:

“I don’t have a release date for Season 3. It’s not that I know it and I’m not allowed to say it; it’s [Adult Swim’s] domain. What I will tell you is it’s late because of us, it’s late because of me. If Justin were here he’d agree. He and I would go, ‘Yeah, we f—ed up,’ and it’s hard to put your finger on how we f—ed up. ‘Rick and Morty’ keeps taking longer and longer to write, and I don’t know why.”

The first season ran late 2013/early 2014 whilst the second was during the third quarter of 2015. Should it achieve an early-mid 2017 release it’ll remain pretty much in line with that gap.
