Danish director Kristoffer Nyholm, who helmed the original acclaimed Scandinavian version of “The Killing,” has boarded Tom Hardy event TV series “Taboo”. Nyholm will direct the first four episodes of the eight-part series.
Hardy stars as James Keziah Delaney, who returns to London in 1813 after a decade in Africa to discover that he has been left a mysterious legacy by his father. He finds himself in a face-off against the East India Company and playing a dangerous game between the warring British and Americans.
Steven Knight, who previously worked with Hardy on “Peaky Blinders” and “Locke,” has created and written the series while Ridley Scott and Hardy will executive produce. Filming begins in November in the United Kingdom.
