In a very disappointing bit of news, Tom Hardy has reportedly dropped out of David Ayer’s “Suicide Squad” movie at Warner Bros. Pictures.
Hardy was to have played Rick Flagg, the leader of the group of super villains that consisted of Deadshot (Will Smith), Joker (Jared Leto), Harley Quinn (Robbie), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney) and Enchantress (Cara Delevigne).
Hardy’s exit is reportedly due to scheduling conflicts as he’s currently filming Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s frontier drama “The Revenant” and that shoot is now running long. On top of that his press commitments for Warners’ “Mad Max: Fury Road” will have him busy right throughout May, and filming on ‘Squad’ begins mid-April.
Warners isn’t slowing down though, and has already made overtures to Jake Gyllenhaal to potentially replace him with an offer said to be out. Gyllenhaal previously worked with Ayer on “End of Watch”
