Harbinger Switches Over To Paramount

The upcoming film adaptation of Valiant Entertainment’s superhero comic “Harbinger” is switching studios, jumping from Sony Entertainment to Paramount Pictures.

The current creative team, including director/co-writer Justin Tipping, co-writer Joshua Beirne-Golden and producer Neal Moritz are making the jump with the project. Toby Jaffe and Dan Mintz will also produce.

The story follows a group of superpowered teens who rebel against the corporation that tried to harness their abilities for its own ends.

Filming was to begin later this year with the likes of Dylan O’Brien and Noah Centineo all said to be circling, but the project is not on the fast-track any longer. Now it will go back into a short round of development before moving forward.

The big news from this is that the ability for the film to crossover with another Valiant film adaptation, the Vin Diesel-led “Bloodshot” at Sony, is now off the table. However “Bloodshot” is less integral to a potential overall Valiant Comics Universe (VCU) and Valiant still retrains rights to core characters like “X-O Manowar,” “Eternal Warrior” and “Archer & Armstrong”.
