Following the iconic sketch on “Saturday Night Live” that went viral last year, Tom Hanks’ character David S. Pumpkins is returning with a Halloween-themed animated half-hour special on NBC.
Hanks will reprise his role as a voice, and will also appear on camera at the beginning of the half-hour. Joining him are Mikey Day and Bobby Moynihan (the Skeleton dancers), sketch co-creator Streeter Seidell and “Game of Thrones” star Peter Dinklage.
Set in a small suburban town on All Hallows’ Eve, the special centers on David Pumpkins and his skeleton sidekicks who show a young boy and his sister the true meaning of Halloween, answering none of their questions along the way.
The special is set to air Saturday, October 28th at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
