Filmmaker Todd Phillips (“The Hangover”) and scribe Steven Conrad (“The Pursuit of Happyness”) are teaming for a biopic about late comedian John Belushi for Warner Bros. Pictures reports Risky Biz Blog.
Conrad is penning the film which is being described as a “full-scale” biopic about the SNL cast member and film star who died in 1982 at the age of 33 from a drug overdose.
Warners has acquired the life rights to Belushi from his estate, though it’s unclear if the deal includes the rights to portray key figures in the actors life like his co-stars Dan Aykroyd and Chevy Chase.
Phillips will produce but hasn’t yet committed to directing. Alexandra Milchan and Bonnie Timmerman will also produce.
