Hamburg Funds New Highsmith Owl Film

Jamie Thraves (“The Low Down”) adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s “Cry of the Owl” has become the latest international co-production from Studio Hamburg International reports Variety.

Paddy Considine and Julia Stiles star in the story of a lonely and recently divorced man who moves to a New York suburb and becomes enthralled by his beautiful neighbor, who he watches intently.

Due to his peculiar behaviour, however, he soon becomes a murder suspect. Claude Chabrol filmed Highsmith’s novel in 1987, but the new film will be less cereberal.
