Microsoft will tour a massive 300,000-square-foot “Halo” theme park around the United States from July 5th.
Titled “Halo: Outpost Discovery,” the public experience will take over convention centers for a weekend in five major cities as it tours from coast to coast – Orlando, Philadelphia, Chicago, Houston and Anaheim.
Each venue will blend elements including VR experiences, video games, escape rooms, laser tag, a museum, life-sized vehicles, a Halo ring, and more.
Microsoft’s 343 Industries teamed up with Herschend Live to create the experience. Tickets for the experience will be sold in single and three-day pass options as well as a VIP option, and the hope is to make this an annual event.
The announcement comes as Microsoft Studios has also announced it has rebranded itself as Xbox Game Studio. The announcement comes as the brand hopes to increase its power and expand beyond its consoles to other devices including PC and mobile platforms.
