It was expected and now it’s official: “Halo: Infinite,” which was first teased at E3 this year, is definitely “Halo 6”. There had been confusion in regards to the title lacking a number, leading to the suggestion it was more a spin-off game akin to “Halo ODST” or “Halo Reach”.
GameSpot reports that as part of a Mixer livestream recently, 343 Industries writer and producer Jeff Easterling confirmed the game’s status: “It is Halo 6. You should just consider it Halo 6. Don’t think of it as a weird prequel kind of thing. It’s the next story. It’s the next chapter in what is going on.”
Nothing else about the game has been shared publicly beyond the E3 tease and the game refocusing its storyline back on Master Chief whom will once again be voiced by Steve Downes. There’s also rumors the game’s single player campaign will arrive next year with multiplayer held back until 2020.
