Microsoft has announced that, after many years of requests for it, both “Halo: The Master Chief Collection” and “Halo: Reach” will be making their way to PC – via both Microsoft Store and Steam – for the first time ever.
This new version of “Halo: The Master Chief Collection” is being built “specifically for the PC audience” and allows players to enjoy the first-person shooter on the platform including campaign and multiplayer play.
The game will be added ‘in stages’ with each title releasing one at a time so the team can ensure that everything works correctly and thus hopefully avoid the issues that plagued the Xbox One version in 2014.
In addition, “Halo: Reach” is being added to the collection on both Xbox One and PC in 4K/HDR and 60fps along with including its multiplayer Forge and Theater modes – Campaign and Firefight components will be available as add-ons for an additional price.
The collection will ultimately consist of “Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary,” “Halo 2,” “Halo 3,” “Halo 3: ODST,” and “Halo 4”. There’s no word on if “Halo 5: Guardians” will also be making its way to PC as yet but it’s looking hopeful.
