A couple of small updates have come through this past weekend regarding James Gunn’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” kicking off with Gunn himself confirming one important fact.
In a Facebook Q&A, Gunn confirms baby Groot will NOT retain the original Groot’s memories, or at least not at first. Further pressed about baby Groot staying in baby form throughout the film, Gunn deliberately deflected the question.
The film’s star Chris Pratt meanwhile spoke up the film’s scale to The Toronto Sun saying: “It’s a fabulous script. I think it’s going to be – I’m not using hyperbole, here – I think it’s going to be the biggest spectacle movie of all time.” He also revealed to We Got This Covered that he’d love to see Star-Lord team up with Jon Bernthal’s The Punisher on screen.
Sean Gunn, who plays Ravager Kraglin in the films, spoke to Point of Geeks about his role in the sequel: “Kraglin is still sort of smarting a little bit, from the fact that Quill sort of betrayed us at the end of the movie. Didn’t give us that money. And Yondu, rather than wanting to go right after him and kill him, has kind of seemed to let it go. And I don’t think that really sits right with Kraglin. And what happens from there is explored a little bit [in Vol. 2].”
Finally, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has put his hands up for a role in a third film should it happen. He tells People Magazine: “I would do anything to be in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 – are you listening James Gunn.”
