Not a lot of information is out there about James Gunn’s soon to film “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” beyond the film exploring the subplot of the true father of Peter Quill (Chris Pratt).
Now, a report at Geek.com claims that a famed and rather unique character from the comics is making an appearance in the follow-up film – Ego, The Living Planet.
In the comics, Ego was a planet that developed organ-like masses, including a brain, underneath its surface. It acquired consciousness and the ability to move around in space under its own power – ultimately setting out on a goal of universal domination. It crossed the paths of the likes Thor, the Fantastic Four, Galactus and Thanos.
Gunn has indicated he won’t discuss spoiler reports so no confirmation or denials are expected at this point. The ‘Guardians’ sequel is about to begin filming ahead of a May 2017 release.
