Production officially got underway today on Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” today in Atlanta. To celebrate the kick-off of filming, the movie’s director James Gunn has provided fans with a first glimpse of the new logo via the set pic.
The shot also includes a caption suggesting Whitesnake’s 1982 hit “Here I Go Again” will be featured on the soundtrack. In a separate Q&A on social media conducted this week, Gunn re-iterated that the new film won’t have much to do with Thanos of the “Avengers: Infinity War” saga in this outing:
“As I’ve said before, Thanos isn’t in this movie. I think he’s gonna have a little bit to do and say when it comes to a certain wars and infinity. We’ve got other fish to fry in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2… We’re not really so much about the Infinity Stones in Guardians 2. Is that a spoiler? It’s not really a thing.”
Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, and Pom Klementieff are set to star in the film which opens May 2017.
