Marvel Studios’ “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” has already achieved a rare honor during its test screening run – not only has it scored higher than any Marvel Studios movie in the company’s nine-year history, but it managed to get a perfect 100/100 score.
Insiders confirm to Heat Vision that the extremely rare if not unprecedented score, bested the high 90s marks of the previous top Marvel scorers – “Iron Man 3” and “The Avengers”.
Unlike most films though, testing scores for Marvel films aren’t random – audiences for their films are culled from a select pool of recruits and are basically dubbed ‘friends and families screenings’ and they’ve done this ever since the first “Iron Man” in order to prevent leaks.
That means these perfect marks aren’t necessarily able to be compared to other non-Marvel movies. Test scores also don’t necessarily gauge box-office or reviews either, more like ‘CinemaScores’ they best determine if an audience is engaged with the material and it meets their expectations.
Examples of other high scorers include “Deadpool” (96), “The Conjuring” (91), “Argo” (90s), “Forrest Gump” (88). “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” is scheduled to open in cinemas on May 5th.
