Guardians Gets Composer, Bradley Cooper?

Filmmaker James Gunn has confirmed that Tyler Bates (“300,” “Watchmen”) has come aboard to compose the score for “Guardians of the Galaxy” at Marvel Studios. In fact, it sounds as if Bates has already finished major portions of his work. Gunn says:

“Unlike most films, Tyler writes huge chunks of the score first so that I can actually film to the music. During action scenes and huge dramatic moments we blare the score on set so that the cast, crew, and camera can move in harmony with the music. Music is often an afterthought in film, but never for us. And everything Tyler’s done so far has been amazing!”

Meanwhile, Latino Review reports that Bradley Cooper has been offered the role of Rocket Raccoon in the superhero feature.

According to the report, Cooper has only been offered the part, he hasn’t accepted or even begun negotiations as yet.

UPDATED: Cooper has now officially begun talks for the role.
