Grillo’s “Ashes,” “Boss Level” Hot At EFM

A double dose of Frank Grillo today via word from the European Film Market in Berlin where two projects he’s involved in are being talked up. First up there’s the first photo from “Into The Ashes,” the new thriller from writer-director Aaron Harvey which is currently shooting in Alabama.

Luke Grimes plays Nick, an ex-con adjusting to a normal life in rural Alabama who must rectify a relationship with his father-in-law (“Longmire” actor Robert Taylor) while dealing with the one person (Grillo) who threatens to pull his world apart.

Additionally, Highland Film Group will reportedly handle international rights to the Joe Carnahan written and directed action drama “Boss Level” starring Grillo and Mel Gibson which has been set up at Emmett/Furla/Oasis.

Grillo plays a retired special forces veteran trapped in a never-ending loop resulting in his death. In order to stop his endless suffering, he must figure out who is responsible and stop them. Gibson plays Colonel Clive Ventor, the powerful head of a shadowy program.
