Following his acclaimed “Blue Ruin” and the upcoming “Green Room,” director Jeremy Saulnier looks to be planning his first studio feature – “Defection” for 20th Century Fox.
The Tracking Board announced the news, saying the film is an adaptation of Robert Littell’s 1973 novel “The Defection of A.J. Lewinter” and boasts a Black List-landing script by “Black Hawk Down” scribe Ken Nolan.
The story follows a U.S. intelligence contractor who defects to North Korea along with a mysterious bag. The CIA brings in a former Cold War veteran to help with the case.
Saulnier’s “Green Room” is scheduled to open April 15th.
