Altitude Film Sales (“47 Meters Down”) is selling the Aussie shark thriller “Great White” at Cannes this week and have revealed the first poster below.
Currently in pre-production ahead of a shoot later this year, Martin Wilson (“Roll”) helms the film which follows how a tourist trip quickly turns into a nightmare when five passengers on a seaplane become stranded miles from shore.
In a desperate bid for survival, the group try to make it to land before they either run out of supplies or are taken by the man-eating sharks lurking just beneath the surface. Michael Boughen (“Killer Elite”) penned the script.
The film is produced by Michael Robertson and Neal Kingston who have made names for themselves producing Australian horror films over the past decade including the other shark thriller “The Reef,” the crocodile film “Black Water” (and its upcoming follow-up “Black Water: The Abyss”) and the killer truck film “Road Train” starring Bobby Morley (“The 100”).
Chris Veerhuis (“Breath”) is also producing.
