Gray, Canet To Remake French “Rivals”

Director James Gray (“Two Lovers,” “We Own the Night”) and actor/director Guillaume Canet (“Tell No-One,” “Whatever You Say”) are set to team on the English-language remake of 2008 French film “Rivals” (aka. “Les liens du sang”) reports The Playlist.

The remake entitled “Blood Ties” is set in the 1980’s and follows two brothers, one a pimp and the other a cop, with the former being the family favourite. Canet started in the original and will work with Gray on the script of the remake.

Canet’s next film, “Little White Lies”, opens this Fall. In a recent interview Gray says his long-gestating adaptation of “The Lost City of Z” is still in the works and they’re presently seeking funding.
