Following on from its back nine pickup order of a full season of Rob Lowe’s comedy series “The Grinder,” the network has given the same order for the John Stamos-led sitcom “Grandfathered”.
The Tuesday night comedy has fared well in its early run, averaging a 1.6 rating in adults 18-49 and 5.1 million viewers overall in Live+3 estimates. Its most recent episodes have seen ratings increases.
Meanwhile, NBC has finally scheduled its long-gestating cop drama “Shades of Blue” – two years after giving the project a series commitment.
Jennifer Lopez stars in the series, her first regular scripted TV gig since she became big, which will debut at 9pm January 14th with a two-hour premiere before slotting into a 10pm timeslot after “The Blacklist”.
Ray Liotta and Drea de Matteo also star in the series about a single mom and detective working in Brooklyn who is suddenly pitted against her own precinct when the FBI catches her doing something illegal.
