“Grand Tour” Sets Amazon Streaming Record

Following much promotion, the launch of Amazon’s racing series “The Grand Tour” has overtaken “The Man In The High Castle” as its most-streamed original series ever.

Amazon would not release specific audience numbers but confirms that viewership was in the millions in the U.S., UK, Germany, Austria and Japan over the opening weekend.

The motoring show reunites former UK “Top Gear” hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May with the first season taking place in far-flung locales across the globe with a travelling tent that will pop up in Johannesburg, California, Scotland, Nashville, Lapland, North Yorkshire, Stuttgart, Dubai and other places.

Further episodes will be released weekly over the next eleven weeks while the show will premiere worldwide for Amazon customers in over 200 countries and territories in December.
