Warner Bros. Pictures has hired screenwriters David Goyer and Justin Rhodes (“Contract Killers”) to pen the script for its upcoming “Green Lantern Corps” feature.
Goyer, who worked on Zack Snyder’s two previous DCEU films, will also produce the film with DC heads Geoff Johns and Jon Berg set to executive produce. Rhodes has been involved in the development of several major projects including the “Fantastic Voyage” remake and “Mass Effect” adaptation.
In the comics, the Green Lantern Corps are an intergalactic police force founded billions of years ago to protect different sectors of the universe.
While the previous film adaptation focused on Hal Jordan becoming the Green Lantern, the new version is dubbed “Lethal Weapon in space” and will focus on two Lanterns – Hal Jordan and John Stewart. “Green Lantern Corps” is currently scheduled for a July 24th 2020 release.
