Gotham, “Affair,” “Black-ish” Top TV Poll

In its second annual poll, the Television Critics Association has selected FOX’s “Gotham” as the most promising series of the fall season.

The Batman prequel series explores the origins of the famed city and follows a young Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) who has just been teamed with a grizzled veteran detective named Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue).

“Gotham” also topped the drama category. In second place was Showtime’s “The Affair,” and in third was the Viola Davis-led legal thriller “How To Get Away With Murder”.

In the comedy category, the Laurence Fishburne-led “Black-ish,” The CW’s “Jane the Virgin” and NBC’s “A to Z” scored the top three spots.

“Jane the Virgin” actress Gina Rodriguez was voted potential new breakout star by a landslide, her nearest competitors being “Flash” star Grant Gustin and the new Penguin himself Robin Lord Taylor from “Gotham”.
