Warner Bros. Pictures has revealed that they will give a limited U.S. theatrical release in New York and Los Angeles to Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut “Lost River”.
Word broke this week during an interview on Collider that the film would be getting a release in April, almost a full year after its debut at the Cannes Film Festival where reviews slammed the film.
It was then indicated in the trades that the release would be a day-and-date release on digital platforms, and it would skip theatrical altogether. Now it seems there will be a handful of screens that will show off the work.
Christina Hendricks, Eva Mendes, Matt Smith, Saoirse Ronan and Iain De Caestecker star in the film about a single mother swept into a dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town.
