Well it’s official, Joseph Gordon-Levitt (“Inception”) is locked for a role in the upcoming “The Dark Knight Rises” for Warner Bros. Pictures reports Variety.
At the same time indie actress Juno Temple (“Kaboom”) is being eyed for the small supporting role of a street-smart Gotham girl. Temple is reportedly close to signing.
Gordon-Levitt’s role hasn’t been disclosed and filmmaker Christopher Nolan plans to keep the actor’s on-screen identity a secret for as long as possible. Could this be a ‘twist’ character along the Liam Neeson/Ken Watanabe as Ra’s Al Ghul role in “Batman Begins”?
UPDATE (Mar 20th): Variety says they’ve confirmed that Gordon-Levitt’s role is that of Alberto Falcone, son of Carmine Falcone (Tom Wilkinson) from “Batman Begins”. Alberto is also ‘Holiday’, the main villain of ‘The Long Halloween’ comic mini-series which has been one of the big influences on Nolan’s trilogy.
