The staff at Lucasfilm must be happy that the next film they have to promote is the least tumultuous of all the “Star Wars” films they have on the way – Rian Johnson’s “Star Wars: The Last Jedi”.
Johnson has fit in just fine at Lucasfilm from the sounds of it, and according to all reports the movie has been all smooth sailing – even with the passing of the great Carrie Fisher.
At an event in Japan promoting the movie this weekend, Johnson revealed (via Star Wars News Net) that his own lucky charm – actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt – has a role in the new film.
Specifically, it will be a voice only role, leading to the suggestion he’ll either be a CG character, or a stormtrooper such as the way Daniel Craig was one in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. Gordon-Levitt’s “Inception” co-star Tom Hardy has previously been rumored to have a cameo in the film.
Gordon-Levitt was the leading star of Johnson’s “Brick” and “Looper,” and made an uncredited cameo appearance in “The Brothers Bloom”.
“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” opens on December 15th.
