Gordon Green Helms “Prairie” Film

David Gordon Green (“Your Highness,” “Pineapple Express”) is in line to direct a film adaptation of the classic book and TV series “Little House On The Prairie” at Sony Pictures and Trip Friendly says Deadline.

Laura Ingalls Wilder penned the book series between 1932 and 1943 about farm life in the late 19th Century American West. They were, in turn, used as the basis for the 1974-1983 TV series starring Michael Landon and Melissa Gilbert.

The deal for the project to even get into the development stage is still being worked out. If it does move forward, then Abi Morgan (“Shame,” “The Iron Lady”) will write the script and Scott Rudin will produce.
