Gordon Goes From ‘Kong’ To “Dork”

Seth Gordon (“The King of Kong,” “Four Christmases”) is in talks to direct the high school-set dramedy “King Dork” for Sony Pictures says The Hollywood Reporter.

Based on Frank Portman’s 2006 young-adult novel, “Dork” centers on teenage misfit Tom Henderson, a student who is tormented by all sorts of cliques and seeks refuge in music.

He also attempts to uncover the truth about his late father, who died under hazy circumstances while combing through some books. The book frankly dealt with sex, drugs, and portrayed Tom as highly self-aware.

Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Gary Sanchez Productions will produce. Sony scored the rights to distribute the film after previous distributor Paramount Vantage dissolved.
