Sony Pictures is already in the process of developing a sequel to the yet to be released film version of R.L. Stine’s beloved “Goosebumps” novels according to The Tracking Board.
The first family horror-comedy film hits cinemas mid-October and stars Jack Black, Zach Cooper and Odeya Rush. It’s uncertain if the actors, director Rob Letterman and producer Neil Moritz will return for more.
The studio is reportedly in the process of tracking down a writer to pen the script for the sequel which will likely continue the first film’s meta approach to the material rather than directly adapt one or several of the books.
Stine has published 181 books in the series which has sold more than 350 million copies and has been translated into 32 languages.
