John Goodman and Billy Crystal will reprise their roles as Sully and Mike Wazowski for “Monsters at Work,” a new animated “Monsters, Inc.” spinoff series being produced for the Disney+ streaming service and will debut in 2020.
The story picks up six months after the original movie with the power plant at its center now harvesting the laughter of children to fuel the city of Monstropolis.
The narrative follows Tylor Tuskmon (Ben Feldman), an eager and talented mechanic on the Monsters, Inc. Facilities Team who dreams of working on the Laugh Floor alongside Mike and Sully.
Also returning are John Ratzenberger as Yeti, Jennifer Tilly as Celia, and Bob Peterson as Roz. Newcomers include Feldman, Kelly Marie Tran as Tylor’s lifelong friend, Henry Winkler as a scatterbrained boss, Lucas Neff as an opportunistic plumber, Alanna Ubach as a rule follower, Stephen Stanton will voice the bumbling custodial team, and Aisha Tyler is Tylor’s mom.
Bobs Gannaway will executive produce while Kat Good and Rob Gibbs will direct the Disney Television Animation production. More announcements for the Disney+ streaming platform are to be made this Thursday during an investor presentation.
