Good Omens Sets Date Casts Satan

Amazon has announced that all six episodes of its original limited series “Good Omens” will premiere on the service on Friday May 31st.

Executive producer Neil Gaiman made the reveal yesterday, and also announced that “Sherlock” and “Doctor Strange” star Benedict Cumberbatch will provide the voice of the show’s animated Satan.

BBC Studios is behind the adaptation based on the best-selling novel by Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. The contemporary story is set on the brink of an apocalypse as humanity prepares for a final judgment. But Aziraphale (Michael Sheen), a somewhat fussy angel, and Crowley (David Tennant), a demon, aren’t enthusiastic about the end of the world, and can’t seem to find the Antichrist.

Shot in the UK and South Africa last year, the series also stars Jon Hamm, Nick Offerman, Frances McDormand, Michael McKean and Adria Arjona co-star.
