Gomez-Rejon To Direct Ephron’s “Siracusa”

“Me and Earl and the Dying Girl” director Alfonso Gomez-Rejon is reportedly attached to helm an adaptation of Delia Ephron’s upcoming novel “Siracusa” for Working Title.

Ephron will pen the adaptation of the story about two couples on vacation together in Sicily where the secrets they have hidden from each other are exposed and relationships are unraveled. The story is said to have a “Rashomon-style” structure.

Gomez-Rejon has been linked to the political thriller “A Foreigner” along with Oscar Isaac, but it’s uncertain if that is still going forward.

One project he is still very much attached to is “The Current War,” the Jake Gyllenhaal and Benedict Cumberbatch-led film about the electricity rivalry between George Westinghouse and Thomas Edison. That still hasn’t locked a start date as yet.
