Goldberg On “This Is The End” Sequel

Evan Goldberg, the director and co-writer of the recently released apocalyptic comedy “This Is The End,” tells Screen International that he’s up for a sequel.

His co-scribe Seth Rogen however, may not be as keen, while getting all that talent back together again is a scheduling nightmare. Goldberg says:

“If you ask me, I’d say there’s a good chance of sequel. If you ask Seth, he’d say no. So, we’ll see. We lucked out that they [the cast] were all available. I honestly don’t know if we could get the guys together.”

Still, that hasn’t stopped him from cobbling together a few ideas:

“We actually talked about doing a sequel where it starts at the premiere of This is the End. Seth’s a cokehead in this version, Michael Cera is a calm dude with a boyfriend, Rihanna and The Backstreet Boys are back. We have a lot of ideas: a heaven and hell, for example, and a garden of Eden version where Danny [McBride] is Adam.”

Goldberg’s next project is “The Interview” in which Rogen and James Franco play a talk show host and producer unwittingly get caught up in an assassination plot against Kim Jung-un. Filming begins in October.
