“Justified” alum Walton Goggins has been set to star in Amasia Entertainment’s dramatic thriller “Them That Follow” alongside “Broadchurch” star Olivia Colman.
“Beautiful Creatures” actress Alice Englert and “Me and Earl and the Dying Girl” lead Thomas Mann also star in the film set in the wilds of Appalachia where believers handle deadly snakes to prove themselves before God.
Goggins will play Lemuel Childs, a preacher determined to protect this way of life in a world that is changing. Fearing the erosion of his church and the loss of his daughter Mara (Englert) to the outside world, he is faced with preventing his community from breaking apart.
Brittany Poulton and Daniel Savage are directing from their original screenplay. Bradley Gallo, Michael Helfant, Gerard Butler, Alan Siegel and Danielle Robinson will produce. Filming begins next month in Ohio.
Goggins, currently filming “Three Christs” alongside Richard Gere and Peter Dinklage, has three major franchise films hitting next year – “Maze Runner: The Death Cure” in January, “Tomb Raider” in March and “Ant Man and the Wasp” in July.
