Beloved “Justified” and “The Shield” actor Walton Goggins has scored one of the lead roles in the upcoming “L.A. Confidential” TV series adaptation at CBS.
The story follows the paths of three homicide detectives, a female reporter and an up-and-coming actress intersect while the detectives pursue a sadistic serial killer among the secrets and lies of gritty, glamorous 1950s Los Angeles.
Goggins will play the swaggering Detective Jack Vincennes who knows the Hollywood system inside out and uses it to his best advantage, including corrupt shakedowns on the side. The role was previously played by Kevin Spacey in the acclaimed 1997 film version of the famed James Ellroy novel.
Jordan Harper is writing and serves as executive producer on the series alongside Arnon Milchan. Goggins recently starred in History’s SEAL drama “Six” and a small but key role in “The Maze Runner: The Death Cure”. He’ll be seen next month as the villain of the new “Tomb Raider” film.
