Today marks the fifth anniversary of the launch of PlayStation 4 in the United States. The console has become the biggest of the current generation by far and has been around long enough to build a solid library of games.
As a result, twenty-three famed designers were asked to talk about their favorite titles with PlayStation Blog, each one got to pick their three favorite exclusive titles they’ve played on the platform.
The clear winner was “God of War” with thirteen mentions followed by “Bloodborne” with nine, “Horizon: Zero Dawn” with seven, “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” with four and “Marvel’s Spider-Man” with three.
“The Last of Us: Remastered,” “Shadow of the Colossus: Remastered,” “PlayStation VR Worlds: Ocean Descent” scored two nominations each while “Infamous Second Son,” “The Last Guardian,” “Journey” and “Until Dawn” scored one each.
Oddly some cross-platform titles were mentioned as well with “Inside,” “Red Dead Redemption 2,” “NieR Automata” and “Resident Evil 7” scoring two mentions each.
Sony has sold around 88 million PS4 consoles and over 777 million software units since launch according to the site. The report comes as earlier today the company revealed it is pulling out of next year’s E3 which has triggered suggestion the company will run its own event sometime next year and potentially announce the PS5.
