He may have lost out playing Goose’s son, a role that ultimately went to Miles Teller, but actor Glen Powell (“Scream Queens,” “Hidden Figures”) has scored another key role in the “Top Gun” sequel at Paramount Pictures.
Specifics of his new role are unknown at this time but came after those involved were so impressed with his Goose audition they not only gave him another role, but are beefing up said role for him. The story is set in a world of unmanned drone technology, one where the world of dogfighting jets is coming to an end and pilots are being rendered obsolete.
Tom Cruise, Jennifer Connelly and Val Kilmer also star in the film which Joseph Kosinski is helming from a script by Peter Craig, Justin Marks and Eric Warren Singer. Jerry Bruckheimer is producing the film which begins shooting this September in San Diego ahead of a July 12th 2019 release.
