“Girl’s Trip” Producer Plans A “Fight Night”

Universal Pictures and producer Will Packer (“Girl’s Trip,” “Ride Along”) have announced “Fight Night,” an action comedy which Lars Jacobson will write based on a true story about a daring heist in 1970 on the eve of Muhammad Ali’s comeback fight in Atlanta.

A post-fight party thrown by hustler Gordon ‘Chicken Man’ Williams was attended by the most dangerous gangsters in the country, a group that was robbed at gunpoint of more than $1 million making it to this day the largest heist in Georgia history.

Will Packer Productions has reportedly optioned the life rights of Williams and Atlanta’s first black detective JD Hudson. Packer and James Lopez will produce, Jeff Keating will co-produce. Jacobson recently penned the upcoming “Day of the Dead” remake.
